The Good, Bad and Ugly

Our trip to Indianapolis overall was a success. We arrived Friday in time to have dinner and walk around a bit before the main event......The Lighting of The Tree. It's 1 1/2 hour long televised program which includes all local talent singing Christmas Carols. At the end Santa rides in and lights the tree.

Dane is pretty much a breeze to travel with. He adapts really well to new situations and enjoys getting to see/do new things. See the excitement on his face in the picture above? He's totally pumped up to see Santa!

The next morning after breakfast we headed to The Children's Museum (which was HUGE, we spent 4 1/2 hours there) Here we are in "Egypt" with Dane driving Brad and Tim around in the Nuk Nuk.

Also in Egypt where Tim talked us into participating in a play to help welcome an Egyptian baby into the world. Very comical but also educational. Here's Tim and Brenda in traditional Egyptian clothing. Ha!

Dane and The Race Car

Always a hit, The Carousel!

And here's the BAD and UGLY!! Packed up and getting ready to head home today, we arrived at our car in the parking garage to see that someone had vandalized our car over night! I took some pictures right off for insurance purposes. This one isn't that close but I wanted to show the parking level and the 2 beer bottles left by our car. What assholes! Seriously!

It looked like there might have been a scuffle between a few people or someone rode up the side of the car with a skate board or something.! Black hand and foot prints are scattered along side the car along with scratches, the mirror was folded in and a HUGE dent behind the door!
We did have a good time though. Trying not to worry about it, nothing we can do about it now. I'm just handing it over to Brad and letting insurance take care of it. That's what we pay it for I guess.

On another note: 15 weeks pregnant now and really starting to chunk up around the middle. I didn't look like this till I was 6 months pregnant last time. I didn't even really wear maternity clothes with Dane, but I'm already starting to consider it this time! I had a good weekend, only nauseous a few times and didn't puke once :) Really hoping it's starting to subside. We'll see.

Things to be Thankful For

Tears rolled down my cheeks last night as I lie in bed next to my husband. Something made me think of a patient of mine who past away a couple weeks ago due to Malignant Melanoma that had metastasized. He was a really nice man with alot of hope he was going to make it through. I believe we meet certain people at certain time to teach us something. This man put things in prospective for me......How easily his situation could have been my husbands. I'm thankful for the patients I get to meet and the husband that I get to keep!

Also, Not to be forgotten. I'm thankful for my big, crazy- fun family. The one I was born into and the one I married into. Could not be any luckier. Just couldn't.

Very thankful for the family I've help create. Very blessed to have the most special, handsome, very smart, and funny little boy. Excited to meet this next addition. What will he/she bring to the family besides more joy?

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.
With Much Love,

The Grimes Family

My Mister Personality

Dane turned our mini family photography session into The Dane Show. He was definitely Mr. Personality. I wonder if it's cause I prepped him for a couple days prior to the shoot, explaining that we were going to our neighbor Kathleen's house and there would be a photographer there to take pictures and that his friend Taylor was going to come and get her pictures taken too. For the last couple days I pretended to be 'the photorapher' and asked him to show me how he was going to smile and pose for her. Well, It worked. He ate the attention up.

Our friend Jen set this mini photography session up with Jessi Weithman from Everyday Studios out of Marysville. We gathered 5 friends and our families for a Holiday Mini Session with each family scheduled for 30 minutes. We also added onto the photo package with some single pictures of Dane. We hadn't had his pictures professionally taken since Summer 09'.

Here is a sneak-peek of one of Dane's photos that Jessi sent over. I'm more than thrilled! Not to toot our own horn here but this kid is SO PHOTOGENIC! My little child model :) We should have the other pictures in about a week, I can't wait!

We went out last night with friends to celebrate Brad's 30th birthday, which is this Tuesday. Wow, 30! We gathered 9 of us and headed to Dave and Busters. Seems appropriate, that's where we went to celebrate his 21st. So many things have changed in that 9 years. 9 years of marriage, 1 beautiful baby boy and another baby on the way. We had a great time! Eating, Drinking (well, except the 2 preggos) and being Merry.

Dane spent the night at his Aunt Randi's for the 1st time. Hope it went well. I miss him terribly this morning.......it's SO QUIET :(

The Outfit........

Danes says "Oh, I'm gonna ride my fourwheeler, better go upstairs and get warm clothes on!" 10-15 minutes later he returned with this outfit on. A pajama shirt, shorts, and baby-legs.

He was quite proud of his creativity and wanted to pose for photos.

Preggo Update: I'd like to send out a personal THANK YOU to pregnancy hormones for the giant pimple (cyst) on my face right before we get family pictures taken. That's just awesome! As if I don't feel unattractively bloated and gross as it is.

At least 2/3rds of the family is adorable as usual.
