Piano Man

These photos were taken at the Zanesfield Methodist Church while we were waiting for Breanna's bridal shower to start. Grandma Burrey and Dane were playing the piano together.

Playdate @ The Zoo

We decided to take advantage of the cooler weather and the fact that school is back in session to take Dane & Rylee to the zoo. It was really nice, not too busy, not too hot.

We stopped by the polar bear exhibit before we left. Turns out that's where most of the people were, it was packed! This is the best part about the zoo now. The polar bears are extremely playful and entertaining. Dane and Rylee loved to watch them jumping and swimming. I would love to go back again and get some pictures/video when there are less people around.

This past week has been very fall like.

Could it be that this trip to Kay's pool was one of our last?

Although her pool is heated :)

We just might be able to squeak in a few more times!

Momo Peterson has been watching Dane every Wenesday for the last month or so and they have been making trips over to her neighbors house. Dane just loves it and it growing quite fond of Kay.

Mariana's World

Last Monday while I had my nieces and nephew over I laid Dane down for a nap after lunch I decided to lay down myself. This is a rare occasion, I ended up falling asleep too for about 40 minutes. When I woke up Kelvin and Cat were asleep on the couch but Mari was sitting at the dining room table making this..........

I was so impressed. She's so creative.

Up Up And Away!

We met up with friends and family Friday night for the All Ohio Balloon Fest. They had a record number of balloons this year, I think I heard 35!

Randi came and brought Cat and Mari!

It was hot, hot, hot when we 1st got there but when the sun started to set it was just perfect! I think Dane had a great time. He is so spoiled, Aunt Randi kept buying him balloons when his popped and Joel bought him a slushy.

Monday was a Funday

My niece Mariana came over Monday to play with Dane and later in the morning we left to pick up Kelvin and Cat from practices. While we were waiting for them to be done we played at the park. Dane just loves his cousins, and they are soo good with him!

Funny to see Dane playing at that park. In a few years he'll be starting school and having recess there :( but let's not think about that right now.

I took them to Subway before we came home. They are the sweetest kids! They all said thank you to me right when we walked in the door, what good polite kids!

I adore my family.

Veggies Galore

I'm about over this garden. Truthfully, I haven't weeded it in weeks! It's a complete mess right now. I'm alittle bothered by it, I really need to get out there. Maybe this weekend.

My romaine lettuce, green beans, cherry tomatoes, and summer squash.

Recently to become ripe.... my eggplant! Yum. I didn't grow this last year so I wasn't sure how it would do, but all 3 plants are thriving! This is the 1st eggplant I picked, I grilled it with tomatoes, and peppers.

More recently, My giant mess of tomatoes. Geez.
I've been putting tomatoes into everything.
-pureed and put into mac and cheese
-pureed and put into alfredo sauce
-salsa
-sandwiches
-raw
-fried green
etc, etc.

Pretty much we're eating them with every meal.

A Reception

Splash Pad Fun

Last Monday Dane and I went with my friend Jen and her two cuties Taylor and Lincoln to Springfield's Splash Pad. Jen and her crew had been a few times before but it was Dane and I's first time.

We had a great time and can't wait to go again!

Pie Bars

Another batch of blackerries picked from our surprise patch behind the garage. Mmmm, Now what to make? Came across a recipe for.....

Blackberry Pie Bars

It's basically a piecrust bottom with a lemony raspberry center and a crumbly topping. It was really good, but REALLY bad for you! I'm not even gonna tell you what went into these things. So, I had one piece, Dane had one piece and then we sent some over to mom's house to sample and took the rest to work. I can't have these things sitting around the house, I'd eat em' all!

I wish I'd have added more lemon to the mix, but other than that, YUM!

My Superhero!

This was totally Dane's idea.

A rescue pack, goggles and a bike..........Dane to the rescue!

Then he started to ROAR! (Are you scared yet?)

Then he added an umbrella to the mix. You never know when a rainstorm might pop up, as a superhero you must be prepared!

Fishing @ Dusk

We finally broke down and bought Dane a fishing pole. He's been asking for his own pole for months. So Sunday evening when it cooled off a bit we rode the fourwheeler over to the neighbors pond to try it out. We had a few bites on the line but didn't catch anything and then Dane's attention span/patience wore out so we left.

Fresh Picked

Brad and Dane found a small mess of raspberry bushes behind the garage on Saturday, we didn't even know those bushes were there! It's possible we just got to them before the deer did cause I've never noticed them before. They were able to pick a large bowl full, and Dane requested I make a "Strawberry Pie." Ha!
