Practice Makes Perfect

My friend and fellow baseball mom took these pictures of Dane during one of the first practices. If you've ever been to a practice of younger boys you'll know there is alot of playing around in the dirt. My parents will enjoy this because I remember my little brother getting in trouble for doing the same thing. He's getting better now and maybe because the coach will make you run if he catches you goofing off in the dirt.

Dane & Joe

Batter up!

Dane's first game is Fri night. I hope it goes well. He's pretty nervous. He's mentioned only wanting to practice and not having any games because he's worried people will laugh at him.

Just a few random Olive pics because she's adorable.

Even asleep

and all dolled up.

Today my dad is going to watch Olive for a few hours so i can go get a massage.
I'm so excited for this. Mostly because of this knot in my right shoulder that I've had for a few weeks (gonna blame that on my job) and for my sore muscles (probably running related). Going to consider this an early Mothers Day present to myself.

Saturday/Sunday

I'm officially off work for the next week and I'm very excited about this. I needed a break......big time.  So we started the weekend off right and did a little shopping. Both the kids were in need of some warmer weather clothes. I picked up some birthday party supplies for Miss Olive.  A baseball helmet for Dane (his first game is coming up on Friday). I needed new sunglasses because I have no idea what happened to my old pair and a 2 new pair of running capris.

Target. Olive helps me choose new glasses.

She did good but we skipped over nap time so she passed out on our way to get some ice cream. I couldn't resist a picture of the drool that ran down her sweet little chin.

Sunday morning I tried our my new running outfit. Felt great. Comfortable. The night before i was questioned by my running partner on what kind of distance i was going to try for.. i said 9ish and then that's all I could think of the whole run. I said 9 so I better get 9 and that's why it's helpful to have someone to be accountable to. My pace was pretty good too. Esp for that new distance.

For no real reason i was feeling "blue" this past week. Maybe i was just tired. This run was just what i needed for a pick me up.

Coming up this week....

I get my hair done. Cutting off a bit and boosting up the color.

Dane has a school roller skating party (haven't totally commited to this yet)

Dane has a baseball scrimmage.

Dane's 1st baseball game.

Good thing I'm not working this week. Busy busy.

Ball Park Mom

I didn't mention this. Dane started baseball practice a few weeks ago. Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30. He loves it and that's what matters. I don't. It's hectic to rush from work, pick the kids up, rush home,  rush to whip up dinner and rush down to the ball field. Lately, it's been colder in the evenings too and last night Olive threw a major fit when I said it was time to leave. She was having a blast playing with her friend Sammie. I told her it was time to go and she immediately started screaming and running from me. I chased her down, told Dane to grab his stuff and meet us at the car and I then proceeded to carry a screaming, crying, kicking 2 year old back to the car. Mind you Dane's team practices at one of the back ball fields and it was probably a solid 1/4 mile to the car. People were staring.  It wasn't pretty and it wasn't over either. I buckled her in and she continued to scream at the top of her lungs. Yes, I spanked her. She went straight to her room and bed for the evening as soon as we got in the door and I NEVER want to take her to practice again. Ever.

Happy Easter!

We had a busy fun filled Easter weekend. The weather was fantastic all weekend. High 60's, low 70's and SUNNY! I feel wore out but extremely blessed and thankful. I hope you enjoyed your weekend as well.

Have a great week!

Olive's World

She often tells tales of her older sister, of dragons, castles, princes and fancy balls.

Me: "Olive, What's your sisters name?"
O: "Valerie. She's at my school." (She doesn't go to school)

Me: "I've never seen her. Where does she live?"
O: "Here with meeee." (In a slightly ridiculous duh tone)

Me: "What's Valerie look like."
O: "She's pretty. She wears dresses and a crown."

It's Olive's world. We're all just living in it.

Warmer Days

Thankful for the warmer weather we experienced last week. It was nice to get outside and enjoy nature. While I'm unsure of whether Olive will be very outdoorsy (she seems to only like warm, non windy, non anything but perfect) She really loved the fourwheelers lessons she got from Dane. It's hard to imagine that at her age Dane was driving this thing all by himself. She's so much smaller than he was and no where near able to reach the handle bars let alone be strong enough to maneuver it around. Besides the fact that she's a bit clumsy and I wouldn't trust her behind the wheel.

Check out these smiles though.

We're on the cusp of another busy weekend. I'm hoping to get over to my sisters and help her get settled into their new home. Which means I must find somewhere to ditch the kids. For we all know trying to get anything really accomplished in a home with kids is like brushing your teeth and eating Oreo's at the same time. It's counter productive.

Also, besides that 2 different Easter parties and egg hunts. Sounds like a fun sugar filled weekend!

Egg Coloring

Olive and Hollis colored eggs on Monday. Momo Peterson was smart and they did this in the garage. I'm sure Olive had a blast!

We've been so busy we haven't had a chance to do this ourselves yet and just in case we don't get time I'm glad Olive got a chance to try it out.

They turned out adorable!

Whew, Busy Weekend

We started Saturday with a Easter Egg hunt in Zanesfield. Olive didn't remember doing this before and she was really excited! Esp when she found out what was inside the eggs.

Me: "Olive, the Easter Bunny left eggs in Zanesfield and we get to go hunt them! Do you know what's inside an Easter egg?!"

Olive: "Uh,...........chickens???"

Bahahahaha. Omg. So funny!

Later that day we got to babysit Obi while my sister and Ryan got to meet up with their newly adopted son for the first time.  He'll get to come home with tthem in June when school gets out for the summer.

Sunday morning i got up and out extra early. I was on the path by 7:30am. Sun was just sunning up, birds were chirping and it was about 65°. Perfection!

So behold, my new distance record. 8.5 miles! This run was not without a few (2 to be exact) surprises. GI distress. Let's just say I'm thankful for the numerous potta pottys Zanesfield has to offer.

After my run I freshened up and we headed to Marysville so Brad could help Randi and Ryan get some bigger things moved out of the house. They officially move into their new house this Wed!

Newport at the Levee

I've spent several hours this morning trying to figure out why I can't upload pictures to the blog. All of my post for the last several months have been done from my phone for this reason and that works fine if I've taken the photos with my phone. However this weekend we went to Cincinnati to visit the Newport Aquarium and I had taken a few pictures with my actual camera that I'd like to share. Not working out :(

So, I went to my FB page and stole a couple from there.

We had a really nice time. Got there when it opened and were out the door before the giant Spring Break crowds all got there. Perfect timing.

Wish I could show you more.

Big Announcement!

I'm gonna do it!
I'm going to stop making excuses to why I shouldn't, couldn't and can't because I CAN and I WILL. I think all I really needed was someone to believe I can and want to join me so my brother in-law Ryan and I decided to be a team. We're going to pick a training plan and encourage each other to stick with it.

I wanna feel what it's like to cross that finish line and I'm really excited
 (and a bit scared too)!

I just realized this kinda looks like I registered for the full marathon. Let's be clear, I did not. I am not that crazy..... yet. I registered for the Nationwide Columbus Half Marathon on Oct 19th.

If your interested in joining us please do and if you just want to come and cheer us on please make one of these super funny signs. I'm guessing humor might help when i feel like crying. Lol

Why My Friend Is THE BEST

I came home from work Monday to THE BEST surprise. A gift came in the mail from my  friend and this is why she's my bestest bud...

1. She knows I love coffee and I'll drink it from this mug everyday and therefore I will be reminded of how awesome she is daily.

2. She knows my fav color is green (didn't even need to ask) and she chose that for my heart color. Orange is hers. Isn't this mug the cutest!?

3. She sent me this gift for no reason. Just because she loves me ;)

I have exciting news to tell you about later this week and NO we are NOT adding to our little army!  LOL
