Happy Easter !

So blessed. Spent Easter morning at church with almost our entire family and then had lunch together afterwards. I love my family dearly. Now the kiddos are home napping and I'm going to veg on the couch with my honey.

Have a Happy Easter!

Design Thoughts, Ideas and Frustration

I originally fell in love with this photo. The dark moody grey walls, white furniture and those fantastic kelly green curtains. Oh, be still my heart. Those kelly green curtains! How hard could it be to find curtains that color?

HARD. Actually not possible. I could find fabric this color and  have them made but $$$. Mucho.

So maybe I'll keep looking.

Oh geez. Love. It's that kelly green color again but in a wide chevron stripe. GORGEOUS. Think they make anything like this.....NOPE.

Oooo. Curtain love again. But maybe in Black and White. Let's see if I can find anything like that....

Yea. Like this! Nope. Nothing like this.
Actually, This particular person bought shower curtains and sewed them together. Good idea really. For 1 window. I have 3. I would have to buy like 6 shower curtains at least!

So maybe I'll think about something else. I'd love a bold color, a wide stripe stripe or chevron, a bold graphic print. Seems non of these things are a buy off the shelf thing. WHY?!

I do love the color orange....or maybe a bright coral color?

Anyway,  That's my curtain plight. We still have decisions to be made on shower and sink faucets. That is also proving to be  not easy. I think we're too picky.

HAPPY EASTER!

Coming Together

A snow storm or not Neil got to work. Luckily Brad got snowed out of work so he was here to help. Walls start going up! So exciting.

I thought this was just cute. Neil and Brad have been best friends since childhood.

Oh My Goodness. Four walls and a tub!

We have a roof and housewrap now. WOW.

So from inside. Interior walls. This view is from standing in the closet and looking out towards the bedroom. Those windows will flank the bed. Speaking of windows, I'm looking for some awesome curtains which is proving to be not easy but I'll discuss that in my 'design' post later on.

This view is standing in the bedroom looking at the closet (left) and bathroom right)

The big window in the bedroom looking outback. This was important to us. We wanted lots of natural light with hopes that some of it will transfer through the glass french doors and into the rest of the house.  We also have 2 windows in the bathroom and even one in the closet. You can never have too much natural light!

We have a guy coming to estimate drywall costs today. Electric and plumbing start on Monday.

Mother Nature Is A B$#*!

We're running slightly behind schedule. Approximately 4 days. Due to the unseasonably
cold temps and then rain it took the excavation crew extra time to finish the job. They are done now. Yea!

Stanford Construction showed up Friday and now we have an I-Beam, floor joists and a floor!

Mother nature is once again tossing us a curve ball and is going to dump 3-6 inches of snow on us come Monday. What the!?! Seriously. Come on. It's the end of March. WHERE IS SPRING?!

* I'm going to try and upload the floor plans for the addition so you can better see what we're doing.

Ok. So I couldn't figure out how to  upload the plans since they were in Adobe. So, I took a picture with my phone and uploaded from there. Not the best quality but you get the idea.

Just so you can have a break from all the construction pictures here's another pic of Olive on the potty. She has her good days and bad days but we're working on it.

Plans

We been busy planning and stressing over an additon to our home. We been talking about it for years and we're finally ready but first we had to cut down the Ash Tree that our deck was built around. It was very bitter sweet. This tree had shaded our deck for 6 years. It was beautiful but it had contracted that vicious Emerald Ash Bore Diease a few years ago and it died. I was sad to see it go but it will serve our family 1 more time next winter as it heats our home.

Here's the permits displayed in our front window. Pretty exciting stuff. When I get a chance I'll talk about the plans more and maybe show you pictures of my ideas and things we've already purchased for the space.

Olive @ 21 months

Adventures in potty training.
