Siblings and A New Year!

These 2 love eachother so much! They are so very close. They fight all the time. They love to clown around together. Nobody can make them laugh more than eachother. Nobody can send Olive into a screaming tantrum like Dane can. They run to each other for comfort when they get in trouble. It's a love-hate sibling kinda relationship and it's kinda fun to watch.

Stuck like glue. Forever friends whether they like it or not. Can't get rid of. Forever annoying eachother. Can't imagine life without, SIBLINGS!

Happy New Year Folks! May this new year bring you many blessings.
I like many others are excited to see what it brings. I will be an Aunt again in 2013 and I can't wait! My best friend will be having a baby this coming year too and I can't wait to share motherhood with her. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Snow!

We got a good 10" of snow here yesterday so that means it's time to sled! We rounded up Dane's cousins Claire and Elise and headed to my sisters house.

This was Olives first time out in the snow.
She seemed to like it at first but after a few trips down the hill she changed her mind.

Claire and Mari.

Christmas

Just a few pics of Christmas morning.

Dane loves his new Lego watch.
Now we're working on teaching him to tell time.

Olive got a baby doll she can take in the bathtub and a "disappearing" milk bottle for the baby.

Also some pots and pans to go with the play kitchen she got from the Peterson's. Dane has also been playing with this kitchen. ALOT.

We just got back from sledding at my sister's house. It was Olive's first time. She loved it, until she didn't. Pics to come in a few days of that.

Christmas Jammies

Christmas Jammies are put on and sugar cookies get put out for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Doesn't he just get more handsome.
He's getting so big and old looking in his pictures now. My boy is growing up.

Getting Ready

Of course we made sugar cookies for Santa. I bought a bunch of new Christmas cookie cutters and tried a new recipe. They turned out quite cute and delicious too!

Parties over. More pics to come later in the week.

Zoo Lights

I felt like I couldn't rest until we saw the Zoo lights. It's a tradition. We go every year. We finally got a nice day with slightly warmer temps on Friday night so we headed out. New to this year is getting there early enough (still daylight) and getting in line to see Santa. He opens his shop at 5 so we got there at 15 till and stood in a short line. After 5 that line gets REALLY long. Worked out perfectly.

UNTIL........

I got a glimpse of Santa. How lame! He had the biggest fakest beard I've ever seen! I expected more from the Zoo. I've seen mall Santa's that are WAY better. And also, Mrs Claus looked terrible too. I mean seriously, her teeth looked rotted out.  I think they took random Zoo workers and slapped silly costumes on them.  I was disappointed. The kids didn't care.

The picture turned out cute.

Dane got his face painted and decorated a cookie.

Then we went out into darkness to see the lights.

 And ride the carousel.

Olive loves horses. She loved it UNTIL it started moving! Then she looked scared and kept repeating "Dadddddie, Mommmmy, Dadddddie, Mommmmy!" with a super cute poutie lip. So we took her off the horse.

FUN!

Santa 2012

Santa came to Zanesfield last Sunday. It went better than expected. I was sure Olive would cry but she didn't. She did alot of staring at him and a few times she reached out and called for "Daddy" but she didn't cry and actually sat there for a minute.

How cute.

For those of you waiting for a Christmas card from us. Don't hold your breath. I'm not sure we're sending any out. Just hasn't happened yet but maybe I'll stop blogging here and see what I can work up.

Plans later to go see the zoo lights and if the line isn't crazy long maybe we'll see Santa again.

A Fourwheeling Themed 5th Birthday

I am THE WORST blogger these days. Truthfully, I just don't have the time for it anymore. Sorry to those who take the time to check in and are disappointed to find nothing new.
We have just been so busy.

We had Dane's birthday party this past weekend. He turned 5! Wow. I can't believe he's 5 already. He had a very specific request for his birthday cake. He wanted a 'Tennesee Fourwheeling'  cake. He also made sure I heard the word CAKE. "No cupcakes Mom."

So here it is. THE CAKE! I thought it turned out pretty cute. I was a homemade yellow cake filled with a whipped chocolate ganauch and buttercream frosting. Complete with a hill, dirt trails, mud hole, trees, candy rocks and 2 red fourwheelers.

Here he is opening one of his presents.
He got so many cool things!

Everyone singing him Happy Birthday.
Notice he had to wear his camo pants to go along with the theme.

We've also went to see Santa, went to his Christmas Program and made 30 individual dirt pudding cups for his birthday preschool snack. All in the last 4 days. Busy Busy Busy

To Pay Respects

Just a few images from yesterdays funeral. Grandma Burrey would have been so proud. Look at these handsome boys!

I am one lucky girl.

I was hesitant to take these following photos. I hope no one minded but it seemed important to capture this moment. Besides G-ma Burrey loved to take pictures. I don't think she'd mind at all.

Tates idea to let Dane help the pastor lead G-ma Burrey to her final resting place.
He really wanted to help somehow.

What a precious tear jerking moment. How she loved him so much.
She would have loved him doing this.

An Important Part

Brad's grandma lost her battle with cancer yesterday. She played such a vital role in my husbands childhood really helping to shape who he became. For that I am extremely greatful. I know she was very proud of him and she loved my children so much. She will be greatly missed.

Anniversary #11

We've officially been together for 1/2 our lives. Now that's crazy! Today is our 11 year wedding Anniversary but we started dating when I was 15 and he 16.

He hates this picture cause he thinks he looks like crap. I'm sure I'll get in trouble for posting this but after 15 years together he's use to me doing what I want :)  It's our engagement photo. I was 19 and he was 20 and recovering from surgery. Which is why I converted it to black/white. It helps to disguise that he did look sickly and yellow.

We were so young. We had no idea what we were doing. We loved eachother and I guess that's all that matters.

Happy 11th Anniversary to my husband. Here's to 50+ more. YIKES.

A Halloween Gorilla-gram

Sorry for the dely in posting. I don't have much time for the blogging world these days.

We had a little visitor here on Halloween. A Gorilla was seen walking across our front yard! Excuse the terrible pics. They were takin through the rain covered front window.

Who could it be?!

Isn't that fantastic?! It's my father. My mom dropped him off at the road so he could surprise the kids. I have the craziest dad around for sure.

Oh,They DO Have A Mother.

Sometimes I get frustrated about the fact that I'm rarely in photos with the kids. It's almost always Brad. Will they look back and wonder where I was? Will they remember it was me who was behind the lens? I hope so. So today I tried to set the timer on the camera and sneak myself into the picture.  Not an easy thing to accomplish really.

This was one of the pictures that turned out ok.

I think I could use one of those wireless camera remotes.
I'm not even sure they make those for my camera. Guess I'll have to look into it.
