A Sweet 16

We had a party for my eldest niece Cat who turned sweet 16. Isn't she gorgeous!

I have this week off work. Fantastic! Today was apparently super foggy and Dane's school got put on a 2 hour and then 3 hour delay. I decided it would be fun to take them to Bob Evan's for breakfast  since we had extra time and I could even run an errand and be back for the bus to pick him up at 10:30.  While sitting at breakfast the school called and had decided to cancel for the day........Um. I drove all the way to town and didn't even see fog and that was at 8:45am so I'm pretty sure the teachers just wanted a day off ;)  But anyway. I guess I get to enjoy both my babies today. However, the word 'enjoy' might be a slight stretch since they've done nothing but bicker all day.  Hoping the get up on the right side of the bed from nap and suddenly decide to share and play nice. Fingers crossed.

Tonight is the soccer party and I'm thinking I might stop this blogging thing to get up and make these for the soccer team

YUM!
(ok so maybe I'm actually making them for me) I better make a double batch ;)

I've been LAZY

I've actually been quite busy but not inspired enough to take a lot of pictures and too lazy to even fire up the computer and download the ones I did take.

So anyway, Here's Dane's Kindergarten picture. Pretty handsome if I do say so.

One of the family photos I chose to put on canvas. I got a really good goupon deal and it arrived in only 1 week. Loving it!

This week we had 2 sick kids. They are both mostly on the mend now. Dane had his 2 final soccer games and the season is now over (Besides the team party which is tomorrow night).  We missed the annual Full Moon Festival in Zanesfield due to the kids sickness. We were really looking forward to the costume contest, chili cook off, family games, hayrides, and cake walk.  What a bummer! Thursday's trick or treat night better be nice but regardless we'll there!

Random-ness

I'll start this off with 4 more superior family photos.

Love the way Olive is nestled into Dane's nook in this one.

Oh, My handsome boy. Almost 6 years old.

I adore this crazy crazy girl.

So, This week I had a parent/teacher conference. It went well. Short and sweet. He's doing well, right on target. He has a few things to work on and we're trying to do that.  For instance why on earth when counting does he ALWAYS skip 17 and 20. ALWAYS. It's so crazy.

Our grill croaked this week as well. It had a nice long 9 year life and served us well. On to a new one and hoping it lasts us at least that long.

I continued my running trend this week but backed it down to 4x a week instead of 5. Still logged over 16 miles so I'm gonna say it's a success.  Taking 2 days off in a row served me well and I was able to log a PR distance of 5.02 miles this morning in 52 minutes 20 seconds. That's a 10:20 pace. Not too bad.  It was cold and raining. I actually really like running in the rain. It feels good.

Dane had yesterday off of school for COTA day so I took the kids to the zoo. The weather was AMAZING and we had a good time. I have a few pics to share of that day and I will try to get them posted soon.

This morning's soccer game was cancelled due to weather. To be rescheduled for some evening this week.

Tonight, I think we may carve pumpkins. I actually don't feel like it but Dane REALLY, REALLY wants to and has been talking about it for days.

Challenge Completed

I finished my Merrell Challenge today. 30 Runs in 45 days with 5 days to spare actually. I'm super pumped! I really had to push myself to complete this as I usually don't run 5 days a week. Since I have 5 days left I'll actually probably run 3 more times but I'm just going to post the finish stats as of now.

Total miles ran: 81.85miles

Total hours ran: 15.61 hours

Total calories burnt:  9,419 calories

I needed to challenge myself and I enjoyed doing so. I'm not going to stop either. I've already signed up for another challenge called ......

In this next challenge there are 4 levels. Each week it gets more challenging. I've received a "badge" already for completing Week 1 which was running 4 miles.

AND because my children are soooo super cute and I adore our recent family pics here's another gem for ya.

Have a nice week. Upcoming parent/teacher conference scheduled for Wed. My first ever. This should be interesting.

A Sneaky Peeky

A sneak peek at our family pictures we had taken yesterday afternoon. The weather was less than ideal with rain, rain, rain but we moved the shoot time up an hour to get it in before it started raining again. Jen (the photographer and our friend) and I had originally pictured a warm fall sunny glow for our pictures but I rather like this dark gloomy skies in this pic so I think it all worked out. Can't wait to see the rest. My kids were totally hamming it up for the session. I've never seen them like that for pictures before.

I took off this afternoon to start my run schedule for the week. I've been heading down to Z-field to run the track some and then run through town. Today's mileage was a PR distance for me at 4.75miles.  Can't remember off the top of my head what my time was but it doesn't really matter. I did it. Thinking of upping my mileage like this at least once during the week until I get to a 10k distance but we'll see.

Well, It's Sunday evening and I'm going to go lounge on the couch and cuddle with the kiddies.  Have a great week peeps!

Our Girls

Juno & Olive. Both are the same age. Both are trouble makers.
They sure are good lookin' though.

 Buddies.

Dane had a soccer game this morning in the rain. He played really hard and they won! Go team Zanesfield.

Family pictures tonight if the weather clears. We'll see.

Map My Run/ Merrell Challenge Update:

I added 15.1 miles this week making the total ran so far in this challenge 60.81 miles.

I ran 11.91 hours and burnt 6,513 calories.

There are 13 days left in the challenge and I have 7 runs left.

I've chosen to take yesterday and today off and use them as rest days. I needed it. I'll start again tomorrow and try to work in a "long" run tomorrow.
